THIS IS REALLY GREAT EXAMPLE OF THE RARE & SCARCE 1837 - 1857 FILLED "3" DATE - ( THE 3 IS FILLED) - "LIBERTY HEAD" HARD TIMES TOKEN IN A RICH BROWN COLOR WITH GREAT DETAILS. "MILLIONS FOR DEFENCE" ON THE REVERSE. IN "VERY FINE" CONDITION. YOU LOOK - YOU DECIDE ! ~ LIBERTY HEAD / MILLIONS FOR DEFENCE ~ HT46R / LOW 31 ~ RARITY 3 - Date: 1837 / 1857 – filled 3 die - : Copper Rim: Plain Size: 1-1/8-inch /28-mm diameter Condition: Very Fine Obverse: “E. Pluribus Unum” on a ribbon over a Liberty Head facing left. “1837 (1857)” is at the bottom. Reverse: “Millions For Defence” around the outside of a wreath, with “Not – One – Cent – For Tribute.” in the center.
Comments: This Hard Times token is in very nice original condition, with nice even wear. The DETAILS & fields are really nice, It has not been cleaned and has nice original chocolate brown color. This HT 46R / Low 31R is the 1837 / 1857 over date, or filled “3” variety.
