    Description

The Barrel Shack™ - The Crossing - Handmade Clock
Red light, yellow light, green light go!  Check out this amazing handcrafted-style piece guaranteed to halt you in your tracks.  Bold clock with distinctive features display spotlights the most influential cities in the world. Stylish unique decor to immediately grab the attention in any room.  Approx 34" x 13 1/2" x 8 1/2"
Track the time in the three largest, most sophisticated and cosmopolitan cities in the world: London, New York, and Paris. The Crossing clock features a classic traffic signal design with a matte black finish that is both rustic and weather-worn. The weathered, rusting top clock face lists London, so you can imagine what's happening in London at that hour, and the second and third faces, New York and Paris, respectively, are well worn, and offer you options for alternate time zones and alternate imaginings.
The black background of the traffic signal was meant for the lights to pop out so motorists could instantly recognize whether they should stop or go. In fact, the world's first electric traffic signal was installed on the corner of Euclid Avenue and East 105th Street in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1914\. Imagine the chaos before traffic signals appeared, with cars, pedestrians, bicycles, horses, and street cars all vying for the right of way on the streets. It was written in "The Motorist," published by the Cleveland Automobile Club in 1914, "This system is, perhaps, destined to revolutionize the handling of traffic in congested city streets."
Fast-forward over a century later, and you can own a piece of nostalgia from those days gone by when traffic might have been a little messier, but less people clogged the roads. Add to that the gift of time in the three largest cities, and The Crossing lands right in the middle of the time and space continuum.
