Description
See photos for condition and detail. Fan weighs 6 1/2 lbs. I can’t find any Arctic aire fans that are painted like this, nor with the exact grill shapes. I believe it is late 1930’s or early 1940’s. Cord is about 7 ft. Long. The cord that goes from the base to the motor has a crack in it. See photo. This is an estate find. I suppose someone could have repainted this fan, but if they did they did a really really good job.The fan works great. There is a wing nut that moves the fan, and it oscillates. The silver knob on the back tightens for oscillation. It sounds strange, but the blade assembly appears to “float” about an 1/8” when it oscillates. When it does this, it makes a noise part of the time. The noise is a rattle. If it is not oscillating, there is no noise, nor does the blade assembly “float”. One speed.
It is a very cool fan, no pun intended.
Please ask questions. I know nothing about fans.
