Vintage Macy & Co. Swiss 7 Jewel Car Dash Clock Clockworks for Parts, Repair, Restoration
Partially complete Macy & Co. Inc. Swiss-made 7-jewel automobile dash clock with long stem-wind stem-set shaft.
Clockworks only with hands, no face/dial, bezel, glass, etc.
Not Running.
Serial number 81768, production year unknown.
Seven (7) jewels, unadjusted movement in a 2-1/4” (57.2 mm) round aluminum housing with slightly larger press-on aluminum cover.
Housing and cover both stamped “Swiss Made”.
Inside of housing stamped Macy & Co. Inc.
Approximately 3-5/16” (84 mm) long brass winding shaft with knurled knob.
Push and rotate to set time, rotate only clockwise to wind.
The length of the winding shaft can be increased approx.
3/8” (10 mm) by changing the location of the pin that connects the winding stem to the clock output stem; two positions available.
Includes spade-type hour hand and minute hand press fit to shaft (will be removed for shipment).

No mounting provisions.

Condition:  the clockworks no longer run.
Sometime during handling for the photos the clock stopped running. The balance wheel is loose in its pivots, possible adjustment or possible broken balance staff.
Hairspring appears to be intact.
Mainspring appears to be intact.
Some level of repair is needed.
The minute hand is loose on the time arbor.
The push-to-set winding stem sets the time properly.
Other issues may exist.  Listed AS-IS.
